TECHNICAL SKILLS VITAL IN ACHIEVING SELF EMPLOYMENT DREAMS

 

 Morgan Kennedy Alugwe joined Kaiboi Technical Training in 1997 and pursued Joinery, carpentry and Automotive Engineering. His stay at Kaiboi Tecnhical enabled him to hone skills and knowledge that would later transform his life for the better. The carpentry and Joinery course which he studied   gave birth to the idea to start a   furniture and   joinery shop  at Namgoi, Nandi  now named Namgoi furnitures.

His move was prompted by the unending demands by the locals who needed household furniture, school furniture among other carpentry services. The demands drove Morgan to use his skills acquired at the institute to develop and expand his furniture industry.

Mr.Alugwe started off with 3 staff that assisted him accomplish carpentry tasks at his workshop and later expanded the business that saw him hire 10 more staff members.

Like Morgan, other students studying at the institute  receive relevant skills and knowledge to be productive personnel and start their own enterprises and become employees.

The institute plays a huge role in ensuring that trainees receive the relevant training and skills for employment. With a single decision to join Kaiboi Technical Training Institute Morgan can now employ more than 50 employees who work alongside him in his venture.

According to him there are more than 2000 indirect employees that the venture has created who are members for the community; he serves customer chain from the village level, county level and also national level. “I thank Kaiboi Technical for making skills development a priority.’ Said Morgan.

Form four leavers are encouraged to join the Institute to develop skills and join relevant job sector or themselves job creators for development and improved live hood.
